
e5 represents climate friendly industries and business in
Europe. The Council's engagement focused on business solutions for
climate protection, climate justice, sustainable live styles,
technology transfers/cooperation and sustainable development.
e5 was founded in 1996 as a business-focused initiative with the purpose of advocating the full potential of sustainable energy in the European Union (EU). Renewable energy, energy efficiency and climate protection already make an important contribution to the sustainability and growth of European economies. e5 stands for the five principles of a sustainable energy future: energy, economy, efficiency, environment and employment.
The association has established itself as a pro-active representative of its members' interests in EU energy policy debates and is a respected moderator at international climate protection negotiations. e5 establishes business development networks bringing together businesses, researchers, non-governmental organisations, and policy-makers. Our members work together to explore and advance the business casefor more energy efficient economies, expanded use of renewable energy resources and the establishment of economically viable climate protection mechanisms.
Vagdevi Educational Trust is an educational institution in
Mangalore (India) with a second registered office in Germany
(Saarbrücken). The organisation focusses on educational processes
(higher education) in rural regions in India under the ausices of
sustainable development. The goal is defined as knowledge transfer and
knowledge exchange on a grass-roots level as a base of development
processes. Besides the humanities and Indian oral tradition, the
institute researches traditional knowledge in rural India, particularly
focussing on skills and knowings connected to the natural environment.
The founder is the cultural theoriser PD. Dr. habil. Narahari Rao.
The 3p Institute is a consulting institute for Sustainable Business Development, which means the realisation of economic benefit (PROFIT) through the perception of social (PEOPLE) and environmental (PLANET) prospects in the community. Founded in 2003 by experts with a long and broad experience in international monitoring of environmental and social performance, 3p supports and squires global companies, institutions, authorities and governments by planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating social and ecological dedication among the principles of sustainable development.
The 3p-Institute offers know-how transfer and assistance in conceptional planning, financing options and project coordination as well as worldwide networking: The institute conducted projects in Europe as well as in Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Phillipines, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam. Partners come from trade, industry and public donor organisations such as DEG/KfW, InWent, BMZ and the European Union.
The main pillar of 3p’s work is Public Private Partnership programmes (PPP-Projects connect economic interests with development goals e.g. social accountability, health& safety, environment, technical skills etc.) The constellation of partnering private companies, public donors and 3p as an intermediary non-profit organisation generates a professional and neutral platform following the multi-stakeholder approach ideas. Providing training or services for companies and institutions in developing and emerging countries and economies the institute builds awareness about requirements of sustainable development and ho to initiate an integrated sustainable improvement.
SAT-iCREE was founded in Cologne in 2008. The organisation is
committed to advancement of scientific research on energy and resource
efficiency on business, national and international levels. It focusses,
however, on the European context. SAT-iCREE contributes to the dialogue
of stakeholders on these issues on behalf of civil society. The effects
of new technologies on businesses, the economy and society are
researched and assessed, the results are presented to the general
public.
Particular activities include rendering assistance to projects worthy of support which mitigate negative environmental effects and benefit the socially disadvantaged; initialisation of educational measures and institutions which identify and promote the basic elements of success in business; transaction of development projects; elaboration of ecological and social concepts; initialisation of and participation in research projects; communication of sustainable knowledge to the public by appropriate means; setup of an information and communication network for students and experts in the spheres of politics and business; presentation of the basic conditions of sustainable development focussing on energy and resource efficiency and the necessary disruptive technologies in order to contribute the the occurrence of systems characterized by appropriate quality and quantity.
SAT-iCREE originated in the Austrian Society for Systems Engineering and Automation. As an autonomous organisation, SAT-iCREE still has access to the expertise and resources of its mother organisation, as the organisation's name indicates.
