e5 membership and supporter levels
e5 members – benefits and levels

e5 membership includes businesses, organisations, and individuals at five levels of membership, depending on the size and desired contribution of the respective member. Members accept the SUSTAINABLE ENERGY CHARTER and regard the contents as the basis of their commitment.

All e5 members, regardless of level, are entitled to the following general benefits, which include:  
  • access to e5 sustainability incubator: identifying and exploring key  factors of a sustainable economy fit for the future, e.g. new markets, business solutions, innovative technologies and production
  • support of an vanguard business initiative to secure sustainability and future-capability of the European economy through pilot projects and policy advocacy
  • participation in and knowledge exchange by means of an European wide platform for dialogue and cooperation
  • advocacy for policies that level the playing field for resource-efficient sustainable business on a global scale;
  • cooperation with stakeholders and e5-affiliated organisations to advance climate protection, eco-innovation, transfers of carbon-efficient technologies, sustainable lifestyles and a commons-sensitive economy;
  • representation of members’ interests at EU and national levels on demand
  • member networking services bringing together businesses, investors, researchers, non-governmental organisations, and policy makers;
  • advisory support on sustainable business matters and climate protection;
  • free access to (or reduced fees for) e5 workshops and events;
  • accreditation and access for sustainable business to UN Climate and Biodiversity events
  • news and information service: email announcements about important news and events in the sustainable energy sector;
  • Membership Certificate
  • Use of the Partner-/ Supporter- Logos after individual agreement

Depending on the size of your organisation and the desired level of engagement in e5’s policy advocacy and business development activities, the annual financial contribution may vary. Corporate and Company level members are also entitled to specific benefits:

Corporate members
(Minimum annual contribution: €15,000)
  • All general benefits
  • Seat on the supervisory board (upon approval by current board members); voting power on e5 policy
  • Logo on e5 website with link; logo on promotional materials and recognition in press as e5 board member
  • Highlighting in annual report, on website and in community
  • Adhoc Briefing (internal)


Company Gold members
(Minimum annual contribution: €5,000-€10,000)
  • All general benefits
  • Annual minimum contribution of €5.000, with a voluntary contribution up to €10,000 
  • Seat on the board of trustees of e5 will be considered
  • Company name on e5 website with link; recognition on all e5 press/promotional materials as e5 member
  • Ability to give input on e5 strategy and policy
  • Highlighting in annual report, on website and in community
  • Adhoc Briefing (internal)


Company Silver members
(Minimum annual contribution: €1,500-€5,000)
  • All general benefits
  • Annual minimum contribution of €1,500, with a voluntary contribution up to €5,000
  • Company name on e5 website with link; recognition on all e5 press/promotional materials as e5 member
  • Ability to give input on e5 strategy and policy

Very small company members

(Minimum annual contribution: €200-€500)
  • All general benefits
  • Annual minimum contribution of €200, with a voluntary contribution up to €500

Associations and Research Institutes
(Minimum annual contribution: €200)
  • All general benefits
  • Organisation name on e5 website with link;recognition on all e5 press/promotional materials as e5 member 
  • Ability to give input on e5 strategy and policy

Individual Persons
(Minimum annual contribution: €100-€200)
  • All general benefits
  • Annual minimum contribution of €100, with a voluntary contribution up to €200

e5 supporters – benefits and levels
Supporters of e5's general engagement are not obliged to sign the SUSTAINABLE ENERGY CHARTER. Also, they don't support necessarily e5 policy. Both will will be communicated on all media in which supporters are mentioned.

Gold Supporters

  • No obligation to sign the e5 charter
  • Annual minimum contribution of €5.000, with a voluntary contribution up to €10,000

Silver Supporters
